Bark Out

Many Oregonians do not know about the threats to our public lands, even though one-third of all Oregonians depend on Mt. Hood National Forest for their drinking water. There are many ways you can help Bark spread the word about Mt. Hood National Forest, but the best way is to find something that will keep your interest and utilize your skills.

TABLING
We take advantage of the many events in the area to get the public connected to information about Bark and Mt. Hood National Forest. If you know of a fun event coming up and want to help Bark do outreach, we can provide you with everything you need. Knowing the ins and outs of Bark, Mt. Hood, or forest policy is NOT a prerequisite. Most people just want to know a little more information about how to get involved, and Bark’s handouts and photos will make it easy for you to do just that.

EVENTS
We have a volunteer committee that helps identify, plan and implement events for Bark. Concerts, yard sales, or art shows, we welcome creative ways to energize our community while attracting new supporters and volunteers to help with our efforts.

DOOR-TO-DOOR
Bark has a paid canvass that goes out door-to-door every week night. We find new supporters and visit people who have known about us since the beginning. We bring important information about a place that most people in Portland love and gain support by signing up new members to the organization.
