    Status: Cancelled!
Prescriptions
  • Total Regeneration Acres: 70
  • "Purpose & Need:" Convert slowly growing diseased stands into young productive stands that are capable of growth commensurate with the site 's potential. 'The Forest Service once again doesn 't like leaving old growth because it doesn 't increase its value as timber while waiting to cut it at the same rate brand new planted young trees do.'
  • Bark's Comments: Steep slopes (most 25 -40 , with some at 60 ), old growth, un-mapped riparian areas within the units, not isolated islands but contiguous stands along Granite Creek, areas to be logged contiguous with interior forest, roadless area logging. The Granite Timber Sale impacts the Burnt Granite roadless area (estimated 800-1000 acres). Units 5 and 10 are in this uninventoried roadless area.
Roads
  • Road Comments: Would close and obliterate roads 6310-224 and 6310-235
  • Closure Miles: 0.3
