Video: Save Portland's Bull Run drinking water
The 15-minute video captures Portlanders debating with Commissioner Randy Leonard in anticipation of the May 18th City Council meeting on water rates.
Wednesday, May 18th, is your chance to tell City Council what you think of Water Bureau's proposed rate increase of 14% this year and 85% over next 5 years. Tell Council that the pure drinking water we get from Bull Run does not need any treatment for Cryptosporidium and to continue to pursue a variance on EPA&'s rule. Now is the time to halt or at least pause unnecessary projects that would raise our water rates. City Council should direct the Water Bureau to negotiate a new, slower schedule for compliance construction projects.
This is an important event. We need concerned citizens to pack the house, so spread the word!
Time: 10:15 am
Location: Council Chambers, Portland City Hall
(City Hall is between Jefferson and Madison on SW 4th Ave)
